Accessorizing your Digital Camera

Digital cameras are very efficient and they have a lot of options that film never had. With that said one must realize that a digital camera needs some help given by additional accessories.
Accessories may improve the performance of your camera and the quality of a picture.
In this articles I will give the basic once that I believe are important to begin with.

The Camera has built in lenses that can zoom in and out, yet some cameras offer the possibilities of adding lenses to the camera. This may improve the quality of pictures, the distance of coverage and the focus quality.
Lenses must be cleaned when needed using compressed air container and special cloth.
Buying a tripod enables long exposures pictures. A tripod gives stability when the hand is just not good enough to capture a stable shot.
A camera bag where you can store the camera and some of the accessories can come handy.

A digital camera needs a memory card to store the pictures that are taken. Usually the memory card that is sold with the camera is not big enough to store more than a few pictures. The convenient of a digital camera lies in the comfort of taking a vast amount of pictures and seeing them immediately. For this to happen the camera needs a card that can store hundreds or even thousands of pictures on the camera itself. Buying a few memory cards is not that expensive and it gives you the comfort of storing them until the actual download to the computer.

Down loading to the computer for a more permanent storing solution is the next step. You need the right cable that fits the camera and the computer. It may be some kind of a USB cable or a firewire cable. It all depends on the kind of computer and camera that you have. Seek advice for choosing the right cable from your manual or from a computer store.

There are several software that organize and store the pictures on your computer. Some provide easy Internet sharing solutions and some don't. There are some free software advertised on the Internet and there are some that you must purchase. Some are compatible for both PC and Mac. Ask around, research to find out which software you need.

Some software allow editing of a picture on a computer. You may change the contrast, light, color, crop and much more using a software like photoshop. Once again, though, before purchasing such a software you must check it's compatibility to your computer and platform. One of the most difficult decision in the digital era is what equipment to purchase for compatibility. Price and manufacture are not the only factors that must be taken into account. A big name such as Microsoft or Adobe, isn't always the right choice for your computer. Learn from the experience of others and research, research, research.

There are allot of accessories out there and you may find that you need more stuff that were mentioned in this article. You may need a printer and photography paper for example. I recommend not buying all the accessories a sales person offers, but try, research and observe your needs.

Good luck, and have fun!!!!
