Digital Wedding Photos - Tips and Tricks
One of the moments that most people would really love to preserve is the events on their wedding day; the vast majority of couples arrange for a
professional digital wedding photographer to be there for the most important part of the day. Looking at an image captured during the wedding or
reception can bring the memories back more than watching a DVD!
Fortunately for wedding photographers they can use an assistant to help them get the right shots but if you're a friend taking pictures, then how
do you take good shots of the day? Ensuring photos taken with your digital camera are something special for your friend's or relation on their
big day might be a little easier once you have read the tips in this article.
Many amateur photographers make the mistake of taking pictures with a boring background which is not something you want in a wedding photo. Often
when there is a good background there are just too many people in the shot, so if this is the situation, just try and capture a nice head and
shoulders shot of the couple.
If some of the guests are wearing glasses, they can be asked to stand with their heads a little down or sideways to avoid the glare effect
from spectacles that normally appears when a flash is used. To avoid people in the shot coming out dark when the sunlight is behind them, unless
you know what you are doing, move them so the sun is behind you.
A zoom lens will often enable you to take pictures that would not otherwise be possible as people are not so conscious of their photo being
taken. You should be alert at all times when shooting digital wedding photography since you can seldom ask people to keep posing for you and the
day is also about spontaneity.
Your digital camera should be equipped with enough memory to ensure that no great moment is missed, in other words, make sure have an extra
memory card especially if you want to preserve as many moments as possible. For any camera with 6 mega pixels or above, you will require at least
one gigabyte, preferably two gigabytes of storage space on your card if you intend to use high resolution.
High resolution images are generally clearer and have greater color depth but it also means they can be printed out at larger sizes. To ensure
your pictures are safe and ready to print, save them as soon as possible to your computer's hard drive and create a CD you can present to the
couple.
Capturing beautiful digital wedding photography shots will depend on how much you enjoy taking pictures and whether or not the couple mean
anything to you.
